Install kodi onto an Amazon Firestick

Install the apps onto your amazon device
Start your AMAZON FIRESTICK If you have not already done so then you will need to follow the steps displayed to register your unit with amazon, otherwise continue to the next step
Select Settings
Select System
Select Developer Options
Select Apps from Unknown Sources and turn ON & Select ADB Debugging & turn ON
A warning message will appear regarding unknown sources. Select OK.  You can turn off unknown sources later but you need this setting on now to install the apps 

Installations just using the firestick/box

Exit to the Amazon fire TV stick/box home screen using the remotes "home" button, the first app that is being installed is  ES explorer
using  Search , type in the search box – ES Explorer – 
Select ES File Explorer and install it by clicking Download.
wait for the app to download and install, 
You will now find ES File Explorer in the apps section on your fire stick/box. 
Start ES Explorer app and then select "Favourites", and then "add", select new and then enter the following link 
name it KODI
Select the android ARM version of kodi v17.6
After Kodi downloads, you will be presented with an installation screen. (open file followed by (first time only ES Zip viewer)  Click the kodi apk file and an "install" button will appear on this screen and Kodi will install.
selecrt Favourites again and "add", select new and enter the following link
name it APPS.
Select the remaing apps you wish to download.
Select any of the other apps that you fancy from the list and download and install as you wish
Once the apps download they can also be installed in a similar way to kodi
Exit to home screen and Kodi and any of the other apps will now be listed in the apps section on your fire stick/box. 
Go to the Kodi Build installation instructions (after the next section)
Installations using a PC/Mac/Android device

Installations using a PC/Mac/Android device

First we need to install some softwsre onto your PC or alternative device, this will enable you to transfer files to you Amazon Fire Stick/Box easily
Now we need to download and install adbLink:
Download adbLink for Windows from here  
Download adbLink for OS X 10.7 or higher from here
Download adbLink for Linux from here
Install adbLink
Download kodi /  and choose the android ARM version or from this link
Download the additional apps, these can be downloaded from here .ensure you know where they have been downloaded too:- /
Dowload iviewHD (iviewhd is a subscription app, codes can be obtained from
Download the latest iviewHD APK file for BOX
We need to find the IP Address of your Fire device,on your Fire device 
Select Settings
Select System
Select About
Select Network and make a note of the IP Address 
On your PC start ABDLink that was installed
Select New
In Description give your Fire Stick a name
In Address type the IP that you made a note of earlier & select Save (you do not need to amend anything else)
Select Connect
You should now see the IP Address of the Fire Stick listed in Connected Devices
Select Install APK
Navigate to the location of the Kodi APK and other APK's that you downloaded earlier and select them
You will now get a notification asking it you would like to install the APK. Select Yes
If the apk's are installing as you get a little notification in the bottom right of the window
You will get an Installed notification when complete. Select OK 

Installation of kodi Addons using the FireTVGuru build 

Start Kodi
Version 17.4 ihas a very different structure and appearance to its predecessors not least of which is its appearance. the confluence skin has gone!!
In the top left of the screen are three icons, the middle icon is a "cog" or "settings", this should be selected
Select "File Manager"
Select " Add Source"
type in the following
then select OK and then OK again
Select "system settings", "addons", unknown sources, change to yes and then press the return key on your remote.
Select "Addons" , "My addons", if .. (two dots) are at the top of this then select this, "install from zip file", "fire", "firetvguru ewpo"
The firetvguru repo will install.
press return on your remote  a couple of times, select addons, top left of screen is a "box icon being opened" select this and then "install from repo"
Select firetvguru repo and then firetvguru wizard and install
When installed the wizard will start if it doesn't then you will find the wizard in program addons.

Choose the Krypton build, the lite build only has a few addons, so personally I wouldn't bother with that one!!

under Krypton builds select (17.0) Fire TV Build Krypton v17.09.18)
then Standard install
Then, yes install
Then, server 1
and finally, OK
Kodi will close and you will need to start it again

If you find that Elysium is not producing results then you can do the following:-
Start Elysium, Select Tools, Accounts, API and enter the following

Alternatively to install the ares wizard follow these instructions
Open Kodi
Select Settings
Select File Manager
Select Add Source
Select None
Type the following EXACTLY and select OK
Highlight the box underneath Enter a name for this media Source, type ares and select OK
Go back to your Home ScreenSelect Add-ons
Select Add-on browser
Select Install from zip file
Select magic
Select repository.aresproject
Wait for Add-on enabled notification
Select Install from repository
Select Ares Project
Select Program add-ons
Select Ares Wizard
Select Install
Wait for Add-on enabled notification
The Ares Wizard is now installed on Kodi Krypton and is available via Add-ons > Program Add-ons
